Lee Residence
This home serves multiple functions - residence, home office, and ancilliary accomodation for members of the extended family.
It features two green roof upper decks to provide additional open space, heavy insulation and timber framing.
Solar access has been maximised with careful design even though the site is potentially shadowed by future neighboring structures.
Planning issues forced the design into a less efficient form, which to me is a major cause for concern. I wonder how many sustainable designs are being compromised by planning guidelines and regulation? I would be interested in any anecdotes you might have in that respect as I have been, (and intend to continue) tackling these issues formally with the City of Bunbury over time.
